..but even if He doesn’t rescue

We’re praying for you over there in Iran Pastor Youcef..

A few things.

This story really just stirs in my heart so much. . .

Gratefulness. Wonder. Fear. Compassion. Heaviness.

What a blessing that we can recklessly love the Lord and follow Him in America.

Sometimes teeth have to be pulled for us to actually be in fellowship with other believers.

Here’s a man that dropped ALL he knew because the Lord called Him.. and he followed.. and never stopped following..

He never looked back.

Wow.  What a convicting thought, right??

This reminds me of the passage in Daniel 3Shadrech, Meshach, and Abednago are being forced to bow to the idol made for the King.  They not only refuse.. they boldly refuse.

“O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”

I always, without fail, always, get chills reading that passage.

‘Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of your hand.. but if not..”

Wait?  Are they serious!?   Yes.

..but if not, let this be known to you, o King, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image you have set up.

That is some serious passion.  They would give their lives for their God.  What a sweet thought.  What a bold thought.  Thousands of men and women are praying the same exact prayer all over the world today.  Lord, give us courage to leave the world and follow after you.. to get on our knees for our brothers & sisters all over the world who are dying for their faith in You.. to love You enough to say, but even if you don’t rescue us through this.. we will NOT choose the things of this world.. no matter how good they look..

You are our sweetest reward.  Our treasure.
